Our Services

Brain Blox continues to grow the services we offer. Please feel free to contact us if there is a service you require, that is currently not listed on our site.

Psychological Assessment

Brain Blox currently offers different assessments with our psychologist Codie. Clients seek assessment for many reasons, such as trying to understand certain emotional, social and behavioural concerns, explore potential diagnosis, and to understand individual needs. Sometimes clients are referred by other professionals, or self-referred. We currently offer the following assessments:

Cognitive (and Functional Capacity) Assessment - children and adults

Cognitive assessments are often completed when there are concerns about a person’s cognitive ability. A cognitive assessment may be necessary if problems are experienced in areas such as learning, problem solving skills, decision making, attention/concentration, and memory.

ADHD Assessment - children and adults

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can present quite differently among individuals. Those seeking assessment for ADHD may experience differences in areas such as- attention and concentration, impulse control, emotional regulation, hyperactivity, fidgeting, following instructions, or sitting still. Assessment involves clinical interview, observation, and standardised questionnaires (self, parent, and teacher report).

Autism Assessment - children

Autism, like ADHD, can present very differently in each individual. Those seeking assessment for Autism may experience differences in areas such as- social participation and communication, emotional regulation, sensory experiences, routines and preference for sameness, literal thinking patterns, intense interests, or repetitive patterns of behaviour. Sometimes these differences are not clear due to masking in order to “fit in”. Assessment involves clinical interview, observation, and standardised questionnaires (self, parent, and teacher report).

Educational Workshops

Brain Blox offers educational workshops to individuals, businesses, and organisations. Workshops are tailored to meet individual needs and therefore some notice is required upon booking. Workshops can be flexible to individual needs, such as length of the workshop depending on the topic (from 1 hour to full day workshops available). Workshops may interest a variety of groups such as education providers, corporate settings, not-for-profit organisations, or retail/sales settings.
